Why I Chose NuCanoe
It has the best features for my intended uses - fishing, hunting, and paddling. It has a large capacity, gives me the ability to stand up, can adjust for tandem seating, and has swivel seats.
What I Like Best
The stability....being able to stand and paddle/fish. And lots of room for gear.
So far....I took it off the beach to try to catch king mackerel, when I launched in the pre-dawn hours, I was alone on the beach. I fell backwards into the water trying to get into the boat (it got deeper than I expected). Once i got it out to sea, it handled well, in 2-3 foot swells, several hours later, when i was making my approach to the beach (my first surf entry) I noticed many of the tourists that were now on the beach were looking and pointing at me.....OOOhhhh look at the cool kayaker braving the deep ocean....while I was thinking "oh my, I am going to turn over in the surf and look like a fool" as I closed on the beach, a decent wave picked me up and started to push me surfboard style towards the beach, the boats stern started to swing, and I knew if I got sideways, I would flip....i dug the paddle in and manged to get the boat straight, and the wave pushed me up and deposited me on the beach......made me look like I knew what I was doing......
